Mausetites were a race known to the Federation in the mid 24th century.
A Mausetite casino security guard on planet Cathius IX was one of three men who allegedly beat Ensign Abraham Silver to near-death. He was later imprisoned and sentenced to death on an unaligned planet. Silver purchased the right to determine the time and method of the Mausetite's execution, but in the end gave that right to the prisoner himself. (SCE short story: "An Easy Fast")
