Maxia Zeta IV was the fourth planet in the Maxia Zeta System. It is one of two planets within the Maxia Zetan system's habitable zone.

HistoryEdit

Maxia Zeta IV was first encountered by the Federation by Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the USS Stargazer and at the same time by the Ferengi Alliance by Daimon Flax and the Seventy-Fifth Rule in 2355. (TNG episode: "The Battle"; TNG novel: The Buried Age)

Following the Borg Invasion of 2381 Starfleet established a mining base in order to retrieve dilithium from the planet. This mine was sabotaged by the Tholians by introducing Farantine into the dilithium deposits. The Farantine was subsequently removed by the SCE team aboard the USS Musgrave.
