The Mechal K1 class colony hub is the centerpiece of a Klingon colony.
History and specifications[]
These are initially constructed by Klingon engineers and provides the initial power requirements of the colony. This makes it a prime target to enemy raids and, thus, highly defended by the military forces of the Klingon Empire. While it provides the intial requirements for a colony but it does so in an inefficient manner and thus further structures must be built.
