Meldok was a Benzite Starfleet medical cadet who, in 2379 during his third year of medical residence, was assigned to assist in the medical efforts on Tezwa under the command of Beverly Crusher. Meldok was helping to evacuate the Anara-Zel hospital when he was caught in the explosion that destroyed the runabout Tsavo. (TNG novel: A Time to Heal)
