Deletion rationale[]

The only tie-in to Trek is the quantity of races that make up the Furies. Irrelevant and unnecessary.

Discussion[]

I've not read Invasion! yet (have the omnibus sitting on a shelf) but the whole fear thing of the Furries and such couldn't this 666 reference be quite relivent? -- 8of5 20:17, 14 January 2007 (UTC)

Sure, it could be. It could also be the case that "beard" or "cramps" has some special significance in some novel neither of us has read. However, it really is incumbent upon the original author of an article to establish its relevance when they create it. Now, if you want to pull out the omnibus and confirm that there is a direct connection between the Furies and the Book of Revelation, that'd be great. (Though, even if that were the case, I'd guess it would be more appropriate to have an article for "Revelation" or "St. John" than the number.) However, with nothing more than User:Servo pointing out the quantity of Fury races, the article is worthless. --Seventy 22:09, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
I agree in principle, my book is half a country away unfortunately, and I'm wary of deleting something outright when maybe it has value. I understand some apprehension when approaching the work of servo, but this isn’t an example of an article overly filled with real world info. -- 8of5 23:55, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
Haven't read the Invasion books, so I'm not qualified to comment on the subject's relevance there.--Emperorkalan 13:48, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
Assuming good faith on the edits which have led the article where it stands now, it seems that 666 is noted to be relevant to Earth culture in the books. -- Captain M.K.B. 17:01, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Admin resolution[]

After a month and a half, we have one vote each way. For now the article, is best kept, until the issue is brought up again. --The Doctor 12:29, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
