Mike Burch was a male human in the Earth Starfleet in the mid 22nd century.

Biography[]

By Febuary 2155, Burch held the rank of lieutenant, and served as an engineer on the Enterprise (NX-01). After Commander Charles Tucker faked his own death, Captain Archer made Burch chief engineer. (ENT novel: The Good That Men Do)

In July 2155, the Enterprise conducted the annual inspection of the UESPA base on Altair VI. Burch with an engineering team quickly corrected the found problems. After leaving Altair VI, the Enterprise encountered the ECS Kobayashi Maru. Captain Archer inspected the ship with an away team, and assigned Burch to fix up the battered cargo vessel. (ENT novel: Kobayashi Maru)

In late-2155, Burch was forced to bring the Enterprise out of a warp because the warp core almost had a breach. (ENT novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

In 2156, he along with fellow officers Malcolm Reed and Donna O'Neill was promoted to the rank of lieutenant commander, and served as Enterprise's chief engineer until her decommissioning in 2160, following the Battle of Cheron. (ENT novel: To Brave the Storm)

The authors' acknowledgements in Kobayashi Maru reveal Mike Burch is named for Mangels' auto mechanic in Portland, Oregon.
