Momosaki was a 24th century Human individual who was a career Starfleet officer. By the late 2370s, Momosaki had achieved the rank of captain, and served as commanding officer of the Federation starship USS Zodiac.

In 2379, he had a conversation with Decalon, a Romulan defector who was aboard the Zodiac. The two discussed the works of Thomas Wolfe before Decalon left the ship. (TNG novel: Death in Winter)
