Morello was a male Starfleet engineer. Soon after transferring to the USS Enterprise-E in 2379 he was part of the Sierra team to Tezwa's Kolidos Desert under Lieutenant Jim Peart. (TNG novel: A Time to Kill)

After Starfleet captured several contraband cargo shipments, Morello was one of the engineers who cataloged the parts and discovered conversion equipment and instructions intended to implicate the Tholians in the construction of the nadion-pulse cannons. (TNG novel: A Time to Heal)
