Nauls was a security officer on the USS Endeavour. He died on Erilon. (VAN novel: Summon the Thunder)

Nauls may have been named for the cook in the 1982 film "John Carpenter's The Thing (from Another World)". This Nauls character was one of the last to die. He also met his demise in an icy setting, by an alien.
