Neema Cyl was a joined female Trill. Neema was the daughter of Audrid Dax and Jayvin Vod, and host to the Cyl symbiont. Neema taught sciences at Ganses University on Trill. She was married and had two daughters, Kiley and Toshin.

Neema once contracted Rugalan fever and her mother read her all seventeen volumes of Down the River Light to her in the hospital, even though Neema was not conscious. (DS9 episode: "Nor the Battle to the Strong")

As a young initiate, Neema used Audrid Dax's authorization codes to find the new host of Vod, and discovered that the symbiont had in fact died with her father, a fact her mother lied about. This led to an eight-year rift between mother and daughter. The rift was healed when Audrid revealed the details of Jayvin Vod's death upon the discovery of a bluegill parasite. Neema Cyl dedicated herself to further research these parasites, work which continued on with succeeding Cyl joinings. (DS9 - The Lives of Dax short story: "Sins of the Mother", DS9 novel: Unity)
