Nelson Mandela

Mandela.

Nelson Mandela (18 July, 1918 - 5 December, 2013) was a South African political activist and politician who lived during the 20th and 21st centuries. He was a political prisoner from 1963 to 1990 and later served as the President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999.

In 2154, Captain Jonathan Archer and Daniels saw an image of Mandela in the time stream as the timeline reset itself. (ENT episode: "Storm Front")

By 2264, Mandela City in the United States of Africa on Earth had been named in his honour. (TOS novel: Enterprise: The First Adventure)

Both the 23rd century Federation the USS Mandela and its 24th century namesake were likewise named after him. (TOS - The Brave and the Bold, Book One novella: The First Artifact, VOY short story: "Seduced")
