New Mexico is an area located in the United States of America.
In 1947, a Ferengi ship carrying Quark, Rom, Nog, and Odo - who had hidden on board the ship to catch Quark in the act of smuggling kemocite - crashed in the desert near Roswell after accidentally traveling 400 years back into the past. (DS9 episode: "Little Green Men")

Lieutenant Commander Worf had an ancient west holodeck program in which he portrayed an Ancient West sheriff tracking stagecoach thieves through the New Mexico desert. (DS9 comic: "Unhappy Trails")
- In the continuity of the novel The Final Reflection, at least some of New Mexico's territory has been incorporated into a new state named Cibola.
