The New Orion Nebula was created and named in 2267 by James T. Kirk. Using two planet-wrecker missiles, the USS Enterprise destroyed a planet in the Orion sector to neutralize the parasite threat on Deneva. The resulting dust cloud became the New Orion Nebula.
