New Seattle is the capital city of the Izar colony, located on the planet Izar. The colony was settled in 2183 and was soon granted Federation member status. (ST reference: Star Charts)
It was also the name of a city on the planet Penthara IV. (TNG episode: "A Matter of Time")
The cities were named for the original Earth city of Seattle, Washington.
