The New York Public Library is a large library based in New York City.

While stranded in 1930, James T. Kirk visited the library on several occassions where he would look through the local and national newspapers to see if he could discover any information pertaining to the whereabouts of Doctor Leonard McCoy. (TOS novel: Crucible: "The Fire and the Rose").
