In the mirror universe, the Obsidian Order is a Cardassian intelligence agency. Its wealth of resources is impressive, and many agents are equipped with advanced technology. One device used by the Order is a surgical unit with the capability of adding genetic tags to an agent's chromosomes. Some agents of the Order receive a cranial implant; only elite agents receive the special feature of the implant to stimulate endorphins, which increases resistance to torture.

In 2369, the Order was led by Enabran Tain.

TrainingEdit

Operatives sometimes begin training at a young age, such as Annika Hansen, who was inducted into the order at the age of seven. One method used to train operatives is to immerse them in simulations. Annika experienced such a simulation, in which she posed as a Klingon and was to assassinate Gorloth, son of Poq. Often, the Order immersed trainees in situations without the potential agents knowing whether or not the scenarios were real, giving unsuspecting trainees real-life experience. The Order's motives for doing this were debated by trainees; some thought it was due to personnel shortages, while others believed it was intended to keep trainees alert. (ST novel: Dark Passions, Book One)

Tekeny Ghemor was the head of the Obsidian Order until he was assassinated by Ataan Rhukal. (DS9 novel: The Soul Key)
