An Omelet was a type of food made by cooking beaten eggs in a frying pan, omelets could include various seasonings and additional ingredients to enhance their taste, texture and variety. Some of these varieties included those containing mushrooms and cheese.

An omelet was one of many egg dishes that Tatyana Trofimov noted being eaten by her avianoid first officer, Tellihu. She was disturbed by that fact, since it seemed vaguely cannibalistic, and she started to suspect that his consumption of eggs for breakfast on each of the four-hundred sixty-six days of their mission was done purposely to bother her. When Nog was offered a omelet by Vic Fontaine in 2376 he declined upon recalling the Earth omelets he experienced while at Starfleet Academy were typically made with bird's eggs and flavored mold (presumably thinking of a cheese omelet), the thought of which disgusted him.
