An orchard is an intentional planting of trees or shrubs which are maintained for food production. Most orchards contain fruit or nut producing trees and are usually planted for commercial production.

On the Kelvan colony in the Milky Way Galaxy, Rojan grew a large Kaferian apple tree orchard. In the late 26th century, Prefect Tamar's ship crash-landed in the orchard after encountering the negative energy field of the galactic barrier. (TOS - Strange New Worlds 9 short story: "Gone Native")
