Order of the Bat'leth induction ceremony

The Order of the Bat'leth (tlhIngan Hol: betleH 'obe'[1]) is an ancient organization within Klingon society which honors the Empire's greatest warriors. It was founded by Lady Lukara, the widow of Kahless the Unforgettable, who wished that her husband's vision of honor be maintained and upheld.

Over the centuries, the original aims of the Order fell by the wayside; however, when Chancellor Martok came to power, he renewed the Order's ancient mission to ensure that all activities of the Empire were made honorably. (GKN novel: A Good Day to Die)

Overview[]

Prior to the induction process, drunken celebrations were held for a full day by the warriors with this being seen as a test of endurance. (DS9 episode: "Apocalypse Rising") Groups of warriors assembled during the induction ceremonies of the Order. (GKN novel: A Good Day to Die)

The medallion given to Order members upon their induction contained a hidden transceiver tuned to a reserved subspace frequency, allowing members of the Order to call their fellow members into action. (GKN novel: A Good Day to Die)
