Ordover

An ordover was a type of animal, commonly used as beasts of burden on the planet Chal, similar to a Terran ox. (Star Trek novel: Spectre)

These beasts were named after Pocket Books senior editor John J. Ordover. Since Chal was a joint colony of Romulans and Klingons, it is not known if the ordover were brought there by one of those two civilizations or if they were native to Chal itself.
