Orventa T'Jul was a female Romulan who served as an officer in the Romulan Star Navy in the 24th century. She distinguished herself from other Romulans through her green eyes and brunette hair, which she wore in a non-standard haircut.

Biography[]

In April 2382, she held the rank of Subcommander and served on the IRW Dekkona as first officer under Commander Marius during that ship's mission to extract Breen intelligence operative Kazren from the Federation Starfleet's Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards and deliver him and the plans for the Federation's quantum slipstream drive safely back to Typhon Pact space. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Zero Sum Game)

By August 2383, she had been promoted to the rank of full Commander and been given command of the IRW Eletrix, officially on its months long mission of exploration of the Gamma Quadrant in joint operation with the USS Enterprise-E, as part of a peace initiative between the powers of the Typhon Pact and the Khitomer Accords.

Unofficially, however, the ship was to act as backup for the Breen privateer Ren Fejin, should that vessel fail in its mission to steal deflector and structural integrity field components from a Dominion shipyard on Overne III. To that end, she faked her ship's destruction using materiel left behind by civilian Typhon Pact vessels in the Gamma Quadrant and then liberated the Ren Fejin, which had been discovered and subsequently captured by Laas and a contingent of Jem'Hadar warriors after sending a coded message while cloaked.

Using the ostensibly civilian freighter as cover for her cloaked ship to traverse the Bajoran wormhole, but was discovered and immediately engaged by the USS Defiant, which had been placed on heightened alert and was performing tachyon sweeps of all ships passing the wormhole.

T'Jul died in the ensuing battle, as her ship exploded after failing to escape following the blinding of Defiant's sensors, thanks to the intervention of the runabout USS Rio Grande under the command of Captain Ro Laren. (ST - Typhon Pact novels: Plagues of Night, Raise the Dawn)
