The Otevrel were a species native to the Alpha Quadrant. The Otevrel constructed artificial planets.

Biology[]

They were characterized by a cylindrical body roughly two meters tall and narrowed in middle, with a green exterior and rows of finger-like tentacles a third of the way up and a third of the way down their bodies.

History[]

In 2276, James T. Kirk made first contact with the Otevrel during the exploration mission in the Aquarius Formation. (TOS novel: Provenance of Shadows)

In 2293, the Otevrel were involved in negotiations with the Federation's Bureau of Interplanetary Affairs. (TOS novel: The Fire and the Rose)

Klingon Ambassador Kage dealt with the Otevrel prior to 2311. (TLE novel: Serpents Among the Ruins)

An Otevrel was drinking in Quark's in 2372. Quark surmised he was an outcast, as Deep Space 9 was quite distant from the Otevrel homeworld. (DS9 novel: The 34th Rule)

By 2381, at least one Otevrel, a male named Relkdahz, was serving in Starfleet as the chief engineer of the USS Robinson. (ST - Typhon Pact novels: Rough Beasts of Empire, Plagues of Night, Raise the Dawn)
