Owon eggs are a type of egg of undisclosed origin, commonly consumed as food. They were distinguished by a brownish-purple shell and yellow yolk.

A shipment of bad owon eggs reached Starbase 32 in 2354, resulting in a number of illnesses reported to the infirmary. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)

In 2365, Commander William T. Riker purchased some owon eggs at Starbase 73, and prepared them for several friends. While the Humans of his party found them rather unappetizing, they were agreeable to the Klingon palate. (TNG episode: "Time Squared")

It may be presumed they are the product of an egg-laying creature called an owon.
