Panama was the southernmost country of Central America, on Earth. Situated on an isthmus connecting the north and south parts of America. It was bordered by Costa Rica to the north-west, Colombia to the south-east, the Caribbean Sea to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the south.

In 2267, the USS Enterprise crew trapped in the mirror universe, noted Henry Morgan's take over of Panama as an example of successful pirate leadership. (TOS novelization: Mirror, Mirror)
