In 2346, Kira Nerys caught Parek's attention at party where Bajoran comfort women were entertaining Cardassian troops. Parek was amused at Skrain Dukat having Gul Oran behave inappropriately towards Kira Meru, so Dukat could come to her "rescue". Parek having seen the performance several times before, telling Kira Nerys that Meru had caught Dukat's eye and was now off-limits to other Cardassian officers.
