A peace treaty is an agreement between opposing factions which agrees to the ending of a conflict.

In 2267 the Organians forced the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire to agree to the terms of the Organian Peace Treaty to force and end to a conflict between the two powers, and prevent any further confrontation. The states begrudgingly agreed under the threat of the Organians neutralising their space forces. (TOS episode: "Errand of Mercy"; TOS comic: "Against Their Nature")
