A phaser spinal lance was an early 25th century-late 24th century weapon. It was used on Federation Galaxy X-class dreadnaughts to pulverize enemy ships. It was similar to a regular phaser but fired a more powerful beam at a closer range. ^{[citation needed]}

Phaser lances were exclusively mounted on dreadnaughts, the lance being mounted below the saucer section to the stardrive. These weapons drained massive amounts of power from other subsystems to fire, but their stopping power was second to none in the Federation.
