For other uses, see Phil Kosnett.

Phil Kosnett was a 24th century Human, a career officer in the Federation's Starfleet. Kosnett's specialty in the 2370s decade was as a starship commanding officer, and by the year 2379, he was a ship's captain. (ST video game: Starfleet Command III)

Background

Some vessels in the game are shown to be commanded normally by lieutenant commanders and commanders, meaning that this character might sometimes be portrayed at those ranks, even though a full post captain's rank insignia is shown here for the purposes of this wiki.

No history or fate is established for this character in licensed Star Trek, in which the name was randomly assigned by the SFC game software. This character's name was derived from the source material that the Starfleet Command game series was based on, the Star Fleet Battles RPG, where Kosnett is a recurring character who rises to high rank in Starfleet. In turn, the Star Fleet Battles creators took the name from a real-world game designer. The name recurred again in unlicensed sources as part of the fan fiction Starship Exeter series.
