Pizza

Pizza is a type of human food. They are a flat, oven-baked bread (crust) that is usually round in shape with a sauce - usually, but not always tomato - and other toppings - such as cheese, and possibly pepperoni and/or vegetables, placed on top. Pizza pies originated in the European nation-state of Italy, but later became popular throughout Europe and in the United States.
When Admiral James T. Kirk and his crew traveled back to 1986 Earth, Kirk and Doctor Gillian Taylor went to a pizza restaurant in San Francisco, where they were served by a waiter named Jason. Over dinner, Taylor told Kirk that George and Gracie were going to be removed the next day, they left the restaruant, taking the sausage, mushroom & onion pizza they ordered with them. While suffering from accelerated evolution brought about by a transwarp flight, Tom Paris stated that he would've loved to have a slice of "deep-dish" pepperoni pizza, with Kavarian olives. (VOY episode: "Threshold")
