Planet of the apes

Planet of the Apes was an American science fiction film made in the year 1968. It was set in the far future and depicted evolved apes ruling the Earth after a devastating nuclear war.

Plot and referencesEdit

Having travelled forward in time from 1969 to 2269, Roberta Lincoln found it encouraging to know that Earth would survive beyond the 20th century, given all of the wars, turmoil and strife of the 1960s, and that the crew of the USS Enterprise were confidently exploring the universe free of such concerns. She reflected that films such as Planet of the Apes, Fail-Safe and Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb were decidedly pessimistic regarding humanity's future as they all featured full scale nuclear wars.
