A polaron torpedo was a weapon introduced into the Vor'cha-class attack cruisers of the Klingon Defense Force shortly after the Dominion War. These torpedoes were capable of piercing the shields of enemy cruisers and damage vital ship systems such as engines, weapons or life support. This added a further advantage to Klingon captains who would then take down the wounded enemy warship. (TNG video games: Armada, Armada II)
