The Proxima shipyards were an Earth, and later Federation, facility near the star Proxima Centauri.

History and specifications[]

During the Earth-Romulan War, the shipyard had 16 unpressurized repair bays shielded against solar flare activity. The sprawling facility used an open architecture design. On 27 November 2155, half of the vessels being repaired were Daedalus-class ships. The USS Yorktown was refit and the Atlantis was constructed at the Proxima yards. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

In the 24th century, the Proxima installation served primarily as a maintenance facility, and as of 2371 was under the command of Admiral Drazman. (DS9 episode: "Past Tense, Part I")

Mirror universe[]

In the mirror universe, General Shran claimed that the rebels against the Terran Empire planned to attack the Proxima shipyards from the Devolin system in 2155. In reality, Shran invented this intelligence to lure the USS Defiant away from Earth. (ENT novel: Age of the Empress)
