The Public announcement system (also called the PA system or Public address system) was a sound distribution system used to broadcast alerts or instructions.
In 2268 when Starfleet Intelligence agent Bridget McLellan had sabotaged the main generator at the Klingon research facility located on Zeta Aurigae IV, an alarm was sounded over the PA system.
