Doctor Puri was the chief medical officer aboard the USS Enterprise in 2258 of an alternate reality. During the maiden voyage of the Enterprise, answering a distress call from Vulcan, Puri was on deck six when that section of the Enterprise was hit by torpedo fire from the Romulan vessel Narada. Puri was killed, and Dr. Leonard McCoy inherited his duties as chief medical officer. (TOS movie: Star Trek)
