Rafaele Buonarroti, Rafe (pronounced Rah-fee) for short, was a Starfleet officer, most notably of the USS Enterprise-B.
Buonarroti was born and raised on Alpha Centauri. He grew up very proud of his Italian heritage and is quite fond of using Italian language phrases in everyday speech. This habit, along with his characteristic Alpha Centauri drawl, created a unique pattern of speech serving as a constant amusement to Captain John Harriman.
Buonarroti joined Starfleet and served on a starship for the oppurtunity to work with new and different technologies. He was assigned to the Enterprise in 2296 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and given the position of Chief Engineer in 2303. He sometimes jokingly thought of the ship as a playground.
