This type of medium cruiser starship, known by the Raging Queen, was in service during the 24th century. Vessels of this type were constructed at the ASDB Integration Facility at the Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards orbiting Mars. (DS9 reference: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual)

History and specificationsEdit

This type of medium cruiser starship was in service to Starfleet during the late 24th century. These variant ships were 383.41 meters in length, 195.64 meters in width and 148.50 meters tall. This type of medium cruiser massed 1,270,000 metric tons and was normally staffed by 290 officers and crew. With two 1,500+ cochrane unit warp core feeding two warp nacelle and four impulse engine modules, these vessels could maintain a maximum speed of Warp 9.75 for 12 hours. Armament on these ships included 10 Type-IX phaser emitters and 2 photon torpedo launchers, with defenses of standard deflector shields. (DS9 reference: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual)

Ships of this type were constructed from surplus equipment at the ASDB Integration Facility at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards in the Sol system, and several were in operation by the mid-2370s decade. (DS9 reference: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual)

One such ship, the Raging Queen, was assigned to the Federation Second Fleet and was heavily involved in fighting enemy forces during the Dominion War. (DS9 episode: "A Time to Stand")

The technical information on this class comes from the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Technical Manual, however the class wasn't named in that source, just referring to it as a Excelsior-class/Constitution-class variant. The side-view schematic included in the manual corresponds to a kitbash vessel (the Raging Queen) which appeared on screen in the DS9 episode: "A Time to Stand".
A similar-looking design, the USS Curry, was also seen in the same episode, but their were some differences compared to the Raging Queen. Some unlicensed sources, such as Last Unicorn Games' Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 1: The Ships of Starfleet, refers to it as a Curry-class vessel, but that designation has yet to appear in a licensed source. Some fan sources also refer to it as the Shelley-class.
