Randall Bird was a male Human who served as a security officer aboard the USS Gagarin in 2279, with the rank of ensign. Bird was among the crewmembers taken prisoner by the Klingons in that year, and brought to the prison facility on planet Pao'la. He died in 2281 of a virulent flu strain for which the prison commander at the time (presumably K'zeq) refused to authorize proper treatment. (TOS novel: In the Name of Honor)
