Remote control is the process of controlling something from afar. This can be achieved in a number of ways using various technological and biological techniques.

StarshipsEdit

In 2154 the Romulans modified several T'Liss-class starships to be operated via remote control, forcing captured Aenar to pilot them telepathically. (ENT episodes: "Babel One", "United", "The Aenar"; ENT novel: The Good That Men Do)

In 2370 the USS Enterprise-D was a attacked by a remote controlled vessel, they were able to defeat the vessel by creating an inter-receptive network blocking out the controlling subspace communications. (TNG comic: "Strategy")

Toys and modelsEdit

As a child Jonathan Archer owned a remote controlled model spaceship. He kept this model into adulthood and even took it with him when he became Captain of the Enterprise (NX-01). In 2153 he let Sim, a clone of Trip, play with the model. (ENT episodes: "Broken Bow", "Similitude")

In 2365 Kori, a child who lived in The Armada, owned a remote control model of the Phoenix. However, out of boredom, he fitted his model with explosives so that it exploded in flight. (TNG comic: "Space Seeds")

PeopleEdit

In 2268 Dr. McCoy used the remote control function on a neural stimulator to control Spock's body whilst they joined a landing party hunting for Spock's stolen brain. In 2374 Nog used a similar technique with several neural stimulators on the Vorta Keevan to give the impression he was still alive long enough to use him in a prisoner exchange. (TOS episode & Star Trek 8 novelization: Spock's Brain; DS9 episode: "The Magnificent Ferengi")
