Beta Rigel VI is a class M planet in the Beta Rigel system. With no indigenous humanoid species, the humans and Rigelians created a joint-colony there in the late 22nd century. The capital city is New Burbank.

Rigel VI is the sixth planet in the Rigel system, also known as Beta Rigel VI. It has an unusual co-orbit with Rigel VII around the primary Beta Rigel. It is in the Beta Quadrant, and is fairly close to Deneva and Valakis.

Rigel's atmosphere makes the sky and oceans appear a light shade of green.

Rigel VI is a member of the United Rigel Colonies, consisting also of Rigel II, Rigel IV, Rigel V and Rigel X. The union joined the United Federation of Planets in 2202. (ST reference: Star Trek: Star Charts)

Rigel's population is mainly Human, who number 167 million to the 48.9 million Rigelians.

Starbase 134 has orbital and ground facilities on Rigel VI, known for its Shuttle Integration building yards. The widely popular "Rigel Cup Regatta" is held on this planet, where many of the best boat race compete. (ST reference: Star Trek: Star Charts)

In the "Worlds" supplement for the Decipher RPG, Rigel VI is a Class-T gas giant with a large ring system and numerous moons.
