This character is a member of the O'Brien family native to an alternate reality.

Rita Tannenbaum was a female human who served in Federation Starfleet during the 24th century on board Deep Space 9.

Biography[]

Tannenbaum often visited Quark's Bar. She was present when Pel made a business proposition to Quark (DS9 episode: "Rules of Acquisition") and also when Quark and Odo were released from Odo's office and normal station security operations resumed. (DS9 episode: "Civil Defense")

Tannenbaum was assigned to Engineering division of the USS Defiant crew when they investigated the planet Gaia IV in 2373. After the ship crashed 200 years in the past, she eventually entered into a romantic relationship with Miles O'Brien. The two married in 2183 and had a family that continued on until 2373 when the Odo of the era ensured the crash never happened. Julian Bashir teased O'Brien about the relationship. (DS9 episode: "Children of Time"; ST website : StarTrek.com)

In 2379, Tannenbaum attended the wedding of William Riker and Deanna Troi. (TNG movie: Star Trek Nemesis)
