The River Taaj was a sacred body of water that existed on the planet Bajor.

In 2370, a delegation Bajorans invited Commander Benjamin Sisko and his son Jake Sisko to Bajor in order to observe a tree planeting ceremony. As the Hylyptus tree was planted, the monk in charge of the Bajoran group poured water on the barren soil from the sacred River Taaj in order to nourish the plant which he said would be one of many in the future. The event provoked a great deal of emotion in the Bajorans and Jake Sisko. (DS9 comic: "A Tree Grows on Bajor")
