In the mirror universe, Robert D'Amato was a Terran lieutenant aboard the ISS Enterprise. He was one of the first officers loyal to Captain Spock, helping Spock secure the ship and "neutralizing" Hikaru Sulu in 2267. In 2268, he became suspicious of Spock after Nyota Uhura was assassinated. He discussed his suspicions with fellow crewmembers Michael DeSalle and Winston Kyle. He was also friends with Jabilo M'Benga, who told D'Amato about several Vulcan legends, which made D'Amato suspect that Spock had secret telepathic powers. (TOS novel: The Sorrows of Empire)
