Captain Robert Wright was a Human male serving in Starfleet in the 24th century.

In 2372, Wright was assigned as commanding officer of the USS Dauntless as a replacement for the retiring Captain Leland Bell. Under Wright's command the Dauntless served with distinction during the Dominion War and fought in several large battles including the Battle of Tyris and the Battle of Cardassia, in which she earned unit citations in both engagements.

In 2377, the Dauntless was sent to investigate the very unusual solar activity from the Vesuvi systems' star that had been hampering the dense colonization of the Vesuvi star system in the region of space known as the Maelstrom. In order to investigate the problem with the Vesuvi star further, Wright took the shuttlecraft, Icarus II, to the Vesuvi IV terraforming station, the system's only outpost in the region.

En route, the Vesuvi star destabilised and went supernova, releasing a deadly blast, that damaged the Dauntless, destroyed the shuttlecraft, and killed Captain Wright and destroyed the entire Vesuvi star system, which included the Draegos colony, the destination of the Dauntless. Wright's successor as Dauntless CO would be his executive officer. (TNG video game: Bridge Commander)
