Roger Adrian was a Human Starfleet captain who served as commanding officer of the USS Samson in the early 2370s.

In 2372, Adrian commanded the Samson during her refitting with enhanced weaponry and defenses and the subsequent war-games with the USS Enterprise-E in and around the Pantera Nebula.

At the conclusion of the war-games, Adrian spoke with his old friend, Jean-Luc Picard about the on-going threat of the Dominion and how it appeared that diplomacy was failing.
