Lieutenant Romeo Takahashi (also known as Hash) was a human male, serving in Starfleet in the late-24th century.
Hash spoke with a southern accent, which surprised many due to his obvious Asian ancestry. His nickname arose from his famous corned-beef hash recipe, described by Mackenzie Calhoun as "absolutely delicious".
His career included service on the USS Grissom, under Captain Norman Kenyon, and the USS Excalibur (NCC-26517) under Captain Mackenzie Calhoun, where he served as gamma shift operations officer.
In 2376, Hash was one of several former-Excalibur crew members to transfer to the USS Trident, where he served as senior operations officer under both Captain Elizabeth Shelby and Captain Katerina Mueller. (Star Trek: New Frontier series)
In 2379, Lieutenant Takahashi requested a transfer following an argument with Captain Mueller over her lenient treatment of the former Starfleet officer Soleta, who had gone over to serve the Romulan Star Empire. Admiral Shelby later assumed command of the Trident and denied his request. Takahashi was initially mad at the decision but later came to accept it. (NF novel: After the Fall)
