The Romulan Bird-of-Prey was a Romulan starship class that was in service in the late 24th century.
Vessels of this class saw action in the Dominion War of the 2370s; The Star Empire used several Birds-of-Prey as part of the Alliance fleet that participated in the Battle of Cardassia. Captain Benjamin Sisko had suggested that the Romulan forces, including the Birds-of-Prey, be stationed at the front of the fleet. (DS9 novelization: What You Leave Behind)
In 2380 Praetor Tal'Aura ordered a squadron of four Birds-of-Prey, the Lallasthe, Elieth, Arest and Esemar to attack the IRW Valdore, claiming the warbird's commander, Donatra, was a traitor after having sided with Shinzon early in his coup. After destroying the Lallasthe and pointing out Tal'Aura had also conspired alongside Shinzon, Donatra convinced Norvid, commander of the Elieth to stand down and escort the Valdore to Artaleirh to establish communications with the Two Worlds and sort out the problem.
