Ayatollah Khomeini (September 24, 1902 - June 3, 1989) was the religious and political leader of the nation state of Iran on Earth in the late 20th century.

In 1989, Khomeini died a suspicious death in which Khan Noonien Singh was involved, according to reports received by Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)
