History[]

Hugh Cambridge

Counselor Hugh Cambridge in 2381.

Billions of years ago, the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy was known to the Anschlasom. When a group of them passing through the Som stranded on the Mikhal Outpost 10,000 years ago, they carved their astronomical knowledge into stone and a cave.

In August 2381, Counselor Hugh Cambridge, of the Federation Intrepid-class starship USS Voyager, recognized a representation of the Sagittarius Dwarf Galaxy on the cave interior. (VOY novel: The Eternal Tide)

Voyager Das Streben

Voyager leaving the galaxy.

In September 2382, Starfleet's Project Full Circle fleet entered into a partnership with the sapient cosmozoan Edrehmaia. As part of the agreement, the fleet would split up, with Voyager embarking on an exploratory mission to Sagittarius Dwarf Elliptical. Kathryn Janeway and Chakotay married, and some personnel transferred between the Full Circle ships - the USS Vesta, USS Galen and USS Demeter - before Voyager commenced its mission. Commander Liam O'Donnell specifically gave up command of the Demeter to join Voyager as science officer. (VOY novel: To Lose the Earth)
