Ho Chi Minh City was a large city in East Asia on Earth. It was formerly known as Prey Nokor, and then as Saigon when it was the capital city of the former nation of South Vietnam.

A youth community home operated by the Federation Displaced Persons Agency was located in Ho Chi Minh City, and future DPA Director Barash spent much of his adolescence there. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)
