Salak was a male Vulcan student and a classmate of Spock's prior to his entry to Starfleet Academy. During their school days, Salak opposed Spock in a test of logical reasoning, during which Salak expressed bigoted attitudes toward non-Vulcans, and specifically toward Spock as a half-Human hybrid. As a young student, Salak desired admittance to the Vulcan Science Academy. (TOS - Constellations short story: "Chaotic Response")

Salak is seen only in a hallucinatory memory of Spock's, and thus Salak's actions, or even his existence may have only been an invention of Spock's imagination.
